Job Title: Salesforce Order Management (OMS) Technical Architect

Overview
We are seeking a Salesforce Order Management (OMS) Technical Architect who can lead the design and delivery of end-to-end order lifecycle solutions across complex, enterprise environments.
This is not a traditional Salesforce role. This position sits at the intersection of business operations, system architecture, and integration engineering, focused on solving real-world challenges across order fulfillment, payments, shipping, returns, and customer visibility.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on architect who can translate business problems into scalable technical solutions and lead cross-functional teams to deliver measurable outcomes.
What You Will Own
You will be responsible for designing and delivering solutions that address post-order complexity at scale, including:
- Order fulfillment mismatches
- Payment processing and reconciliation issues
- Shipment tracking and customer visibility gaps
- Returns, refunds, and reverse logistics workflows
- Data consistency across multiple systems
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Architecture
- Design and implement complete order lifecycle solutions using Salesforce Order Management (OMS)
- Define architecture across commerce, service, operations, and backend systems
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance in high-volume environments
Integration Leadership (CRITICAL)
- Architect and deliver integrations between Salesforce and:
- ERP systems
- WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
- Payment gateways
- Shipping/carrier platforms
- Design API-driven and event-driven architectures for real-time data flow
- Ensure data integrity and synchronization across systems
Post-Order Process Optimization
- Lead design of workflows across:
- Fulfillment and shipping
- Order tracking and customer notifications
- Returns (RMA), refunds, and exchanges
- Improve operational visibility and customer experience
Salesforce Technical Leadership
- Provide hands-on leadership across:
- Apex development
- Flows and automation
- Platform Events
- CI/CD pipelines
- Establish best practices for scalable Salesforce OMS implementations
Business & Stakeholder Alignment
- Lead workshops with business stakeholders to gather requirements
- Translate operational challenges into technical solutions
- Communicate architecture decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Enterprise Architecture Mindset
- Align solutions to broader enterprise architecture strategy
- Ensure consistency across:
- Business processes
- Data models
- Systems and technology layers

- Order lifecycle flows operate seamlessly across systems
- Reduced fulfillment and payment errors
- Improved customer visibility (real-time tracking, updates)
- Scalable architecture supporting high transaction volumes

Required Experience
- 5–10+ years of Salesforce experience, including architecture roles
- Deep expertise in Salesforce Order Management (OMS)
- Proven experience designing end-to-end order lifecycle solutions
- Strong experience with enterprise integrations (ERP, WMS, payments, carriers)
- Hands-on experience with:
- Apex
- Flows
- Platform Events
- API integrations (REST, event-driven)
- Experience designing real-time, event-driven systems
- Strong understanding of data consistency and system orchestration
Preferred Experience
- Salesforce Architect certifications
- Experience with Commerce Cloud
- Background in retail, eCommerce, or high-volume consumer operations
- Experience solving real-world issues such as:
- Fulfillment mismatches
- Payment failures
- Shipment tracking gaps
- Returns/refunds complexity
