Senior Medicare Subject Matter Expert (Strategic Leadership Role)

Location: Midwest (Remote Flexibility Considered)

Employment Type: 6-Month Contract (minimum)

Our client, a nationally recognized health plan headquartered in the Midwest, is seeking a Senior Medicare Subject Matter Expert (SME) to drive strategic business initiatives. This role is business-focused, not technical, and requires a strong leader who can guide executive-level conversations around the Facets Core Platform, Medicare compliance, and operational transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate strategic discussions with senior executives regarding the Facets Core Platform.
  • Clearly articulate platform benefits, capabilities, and differentiation to business stakeholders.
  • Drive and influence executive decision-making related to core platform strategies, Medicare compliance initiatives, and operational enhancements.
  • Act as a strategic advisor for major Medicare program initiatives, steering transformation conversations at the leadership level.
  • Provide guidance on compliance best practices and lead initiatives focused on improving operational effectiveness.
  • Help shift executive mindsets toward long-term modernization and transformation goals.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive Medicare domain expertise with a deep understanding of health plan operations.
  • Strong business knowledge of the Facets Core Platform; ability to discuss functionality, benefits, and strategic alignment.
  • Proven ability to lead executive-level conversations and influence strategic decision-making.
  • Experience driving strategic transformations, compliance initiatives, and operational overhauls.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Prior experience in a strategic, advisory, or consulting capacity strongly preferred.

Additional Details:

  • Initial contract term: 6 months, with potential for extension or full-time engagement based on performance and project needs.
  • No coding or technical implementation required — this is purely a strategic business leadership role.
