API Developer with Healthcare Portal Experience

Overview:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced  API Developer to join our dynamic team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing APIs for healthcare portals, with a proven track record of delivering robust and scalable solutions. This role demands excellent communication skills, both oral and presentation, as the developer will frequently interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and deliver demonstrations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain APIs using .NET, C#, and C++ programming languages.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features for healthcare portal applications.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs in existing applications.
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
  • Prepare and maintain code documentation.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members.
  • Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions effectively to stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with new technology trends, applications, and protocols in the healthcare industry.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven work experience (3+ years) as an API developer with specific experience in healthcare portal API development.
  • Strong understanding of the .NET framework, SQL Server, and design/architectural patterns (e.g., Model-View-Controller (MVC)).
  • Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC).
  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments.
  • Strong oral and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of security standards and compliance requirements related to healthcare information.
