Job Summary:
- We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced technical project leader to drive the enhancement, development, and management of our Guidewire InsuranceSuite, which includes PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, ContactManager, and digital portals.
- In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance, documenting new features, and specifying software integration with our core insurance systems.
- Additionally, you will train and mentor other members of the development team.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of Guidewire development projects, including system configurations and external/internal integrations, by conducting technical analysis, designing solutions, documenting requirements, developing software, and conducting thorough testing.
- Demonstrate leadership within the Guidewire development team and collaborate effectively with cross-departmental project teams.
- Establish and promote "best practices" and coding standards for the team, ensuring high-quality development processes.
- Collaborate with software vendors and system integrator partners to provide technical expertise during Guidewire installations and upgrades.
- Take the lead in developing automated test cases to ensure robust software quality.
- Independently solve complex problems and make decisions without requiring constant supervision.
- Encourage and actively participate in pair-programming and coaching sessions with team members to meet project requirements.
- Engage in daily scrums, maintaining effective communication with project managers, team members, and customers.
- Complete assigned projects on time and contribute to the overall success of the team.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of the entire software development life cycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, implementation, testing, and documentation. Familiarity with Agile and Iterative Development models is essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong creative problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proven track record of leading small to medium-sized projects and adapting to new languages and development methodologies.
- Effective in collaborating with external contacts, fellow employees, managers, and department staff members.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent field is required.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software or web application development, including proficiency in an object-oriented language.
Preferred Experience:
- More than 5 years of experience with Gosu, SQL, Java, SOAP or RESTful web services, JavaScript, XML, Git, or similar version control/source code management tools.
- 1 or more years of experience in the insurance or financial industry.
- Working towards the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation is desirable.
