One of our software development clients in Lincoln, NE is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to be directly responsible for the quality of products within their suite of products.  This is an established 40-year-old company with offices in 5 states as well as 4 data centers throughout the country.  The company’s revenues have grown year-after-year and this is a new expansion position.  The selected candidate will have responsibilities for the Software testing team and overall quality of the products in production.  Must be self-motivated with good communication skills and the ability to deal with all stakeholders on a professional level.  Leadership, QA software process knowledge and people skills are a must.  Both Manual and Automated quality assurance skills are a definite bonus.  This is a Direct Hire position and the salary is based on experience. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the development, implementation, control, and distribution of all QA practices, standards, methodologies, and metrics.
  • Oversees the Software Test Team and departmental objectives.
  • Ensures processes focus consistently on 'best practices' to ensure quality assurance objectives are maintained.  This includes leading practices necessary to produce quality products/services and manage risk.
  • Establishes quality standards to be universally applied throughout the company and recommends quality improvements.
  • Conducts program reviews and complex process audits; evaluating results against expected results.
  • Supports QA staff programs and projects including drafting, revising, and approving test plans and scripts.
  • Examines adherence to quality standards in development and implementation of production applications and the effectiveness of the assurance process.
  • Assists management with internal problem/issue resolution insuring department efficiencies and service quality are consistently maintained.
  • Reviews status of QA initiatives and collaborates with other managers to ensure quality objectives are being attained.
  • Oversees multiple QA projects which include development, installation, and maintenance.
  • Assists in planning and estimation of QA support for new programs and projects. Schedules and prioritizes work to meet target schedule, quality, scope, and cost objectives.
  • Monitors staff training initiatives and development to ensure quality support is maintained.
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience, including 1-3 years of supervisory experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience with QA processes, tools, techniques and practices for assuring adherence to quality standards associated with developing software.
 
Preferred skills/experience:
  • Fluent knowledge of software development IT standards, procedures, policies, audits and resource management.
  • Software testing tools such as: SmartBear, SoapUI or LoadUI.
 
Nice to have, not required:
  • Knowledge of SQL.
  • Knowledge of .NET, C# language.
  • Knowledge of Source Code Management tools.
  • Working knowledge of Project management tools such Team Foundation Server, Wonderlist, Microsoft Project.
